Brights Zoo

The Hubby and I finally got to visit Brights Zoo in Limestone and it was awesome!  It had more that either of us expected and it was beautifully maintained.  If you have never been you really should check it out!  Here's some of our favorites from the day!

Twice in less than a month that I have fed giraffes!  So cool!

 Common Squirrel Monkeys - Mike had to check my pockets to make sure I didn't smuggle one out!  I adore them!!

So the Serval was a bit of a celebrity snot and did not want his picture taken!  He started hissing at us as we approached his enclosure, little did he know it made for an awesome photo!  Crazy kitty!

The flamingos were cracking us up!  They kept running around in mini stampedes and squawking!  We never could figure out what agitated them.

Yoga!

Last week I took a couple of pictures for my friend and yoga instructor, Rhonda.  She's looking for a few pictures she can use on her website.  She did a great job, but as the photographer, I'm just not pleased with the background.  I suggested we take the yoga outdoors, so hopefully you will be seeing some pretty scenery yoga soon!  For now enjoy these!

Jeffrey and Kyler's Senior Prom

Friday night was prom night for Providence Academy.  Actually, they call it something besides prom, but a rose by any other name . . . Anyway, I got to spend a little bit of time with Jeffrey and his girlfriend, Kyler.  (I hope I spelled her name correctly!)  They are adorable.  Seriously.  Check them out for yourself!  If you want to see all of the photos you can check them out here - Jeffrey and Kyler Prom Photos

February Photo Walk

Between the weather and my back I wasn't sure I would make it out for my second photo walk of the year, but I managed to get it done on the last day of the month!  I question my choice of taking Ruger with me, because of the messed up back, but he did very well.  We went to Sycamore Shoals State Park and walked the path along the river.  It was really his first test of being in public and around strangers.  He did so well!!!  He just wanted people to talk to him and pat him on the head.  However, he had a standoff with a stroller until he deemed it non-threatening!  He, also, had very little desire to stand still for any photos of himself - guess he's at that age :)

I'm not sure what happened to these trees, but it was absolute carnage.

Ruger just walked right into the water, stood there, and looked around.  He seemed a little indifferent.  I am hoping he likes the lake more in a few months!
